About SHARP
Established over 40 years ago, SHARP is dedicated to caring for people who are homeless or in need of help in acquiring a settled way of life, through the provision of advice, accommodation and support. Users are treated with respect and given the opportunity to experience growth in the areas of interacting with others and skill development. The goal is to create a positive environment that fosters improved self-confidence and self-esteem.
Accommodation is provided to individuals referred to us by local councils and we work with organisations in the area to provide addiction and mental health support. Most accommodation costs are covered by relevant housing and support benefits, if applicable.
Our SERVICES
Medium/ Long Term Accommodation at ‘The Gables’
19 en-suite rooms with 24hr support and engagement with local addiction mental health and primary healthcare services are available as long as needed, and we support individuals to move on to thrive in their own tenancies when they are ready
We have recently started to offer in-house counselling and are looking to provide life-skills education
Barclay Road Next-step medium-term supported accommodation
2 self-contained flats available for residents who are starting to live more independently, as they progress towards their own tenancies
Community Support offers ongoing at-home support to people with mental health concerns who need help to maintain a settled way of life, through the provision of advice, practical help and regular face-to-face person-centred support
This could include help with:
•Budgeting and paying bills
•Dealing with and understanding your mail
•Arranging appointments
•Attending appointments
•Shopping
•Liaising with other agencies
•Encouragement to do the things you want to do
